I'm Karen, but you can call me Ren. I'm an artist at heart, constantly driven by a passion for storytelling through video. I direct, film, edit and produce all of my videos. Crafting narratives is where I feel most at home. When I'm not behind the camera, you’ll find me needle-felting little animals drinking lattes or playing mahjong. Creativity fuels everything I do, and I’m always eager to explore new ways to express it.
My Story
My passion for videography took shape through my personal project, Tiny Felted Joy. I create tiny needle-felted animals and hide them in small, local businesses across Boston, inviting people to discover these whimsical creations in unexpected places. Through this project, I also interview the business owners, uncovering the rich stories behind Boston’s hidden gems and celebrating the unique communities they’ve built.
My love for food naturally led me to America’s Test Kitchen, where I found a perfect blend of creativity and culinary expertise. I film, edit, direct and produce all of my videos that highlight behind-the-scenes moments with test cooks, capturing their techniques, innovation, and the spark that makes each of them stand out. Highlighting their personalities and bringing their work to life on camera is something I truly enjoy. Always on the lookout for new ways to tell stories, I’m constantly seeking opportunities to push my videography skills further, whether in food, art, or other creative spaces.
